Wood from the Teak tree has long been valued for its beauty and its superior material properties. Products made from Teak are found on yachts, inside mansions, and in the most fashionable of furniture either around the pool or in the grand room. The original sources of Teak, old-growth forests in Southeast Asia, are yielding less lumber due to depletion of the resource and conservation making Teak even more valuable and desired.
Today, through sustainably managed forestry practices, Teak is available to a larger population, closer to the US market, and at more affordable prices. Plantation Teak has the same material properties and classic looks as old-growth Teak. Plus, Teak from plantations have benefits that cannot be obtained from old-growth Teak.
Teak's desirable qualities include:
- Beautiful rich, earth color
- An intrinsic grain pattern
- Natural resistant to decay and insects
- Hardness needed for flooring
- Large range of uses
AGSA is committed to providing environmentally sustainable products for its growing customer base
